Hope we can arrange your golf tour to your satisfaction. Golf became popular during the British colonial days of Burma from 1848 – 1948. As there were abundant of land & cheap labor in Myanmar many golf courses were groomed throughout Myanmar.

The golf courses here are on par with the best in the world such as St. Andrews ( Scotland ), Pebble Beach ( USA ) & Pataya ( Thailand ). Many golf pros visited Myanmar & hold golf clinics here & names like Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods etc..

There are golf courses in every popular tourist destinations of Myanmar — Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay, Inle, Kalaw, Maymyo, Ngapali & Ngwe Saung.

Myanmar has three seasons ( 1 ) summer – end of Feb. to mid May ( 2 ) rainy season – mid May – mid September & ( 3 ) winter – Nov. to Feb.

It is 20 miles from sea in lower Myanmar. Heavy rains & showers during monsoon ( May – Sept. ), rain fall 100 inches / year resulting in ever green plants & trees. Winter November - February is the tourist prime season & the weather then suite the golf players & make them comfortable. There are quite a number of golf courses in Yangon.


Situated in upper Myanmar & it is in the hot region but cool during winter ( Nov. – Feb. ). Many tourist attractions around Mandalay — the famous Mandalay Palace, monasteries, pagodas, ivory – wood carving – silk weaving – silver ware – stone carving industries which are extremely interesting.

Maymyo ( Pyin oo Lwin )

90 mins. Uphill drive from Mandalay & situated at 1070 meters above sea level. A hill station & the seat of summer colonial government. A top notch golf course is a must for golfers to play. Apart from that Maymyo Kandawgyi is the best known park in Asia.


The first kingdom dating back to 11th. century is the most interesting place in Myanmar with richest archaeological sites in Asia containing edifices. The city has thousands of pagodas, temples, images etc. on the bank of Ayeyarwaddy. There is also a nice golf course & a well known international golf resort — known as Bagan Golf Resort.

Yangon golf club, Yangon

Established in 1909, simpally one of the best not only because of it’s attractive lay out amidst the trees and rolling hills but also it’s glorious historical background. This challanging 18 hole is a regular host for the Asian PGA tour.

Pun Hlaing golf club, Yangon

Finest golf course in Myanmar designed by Gary Player, established in 2000. This course operates superbly maintained 18 hole and its greens are the best in Myanmar.

Bagan golf club, Bagan

Surely is an oasis in the dry zone as the relaxing garden next to 11th century ruins and the Ayeyarwaddy river stretching out beyond. The 18 hole Bagan golf resort wanders in between some of the ancients pagodas.

Yedagun Taung golf club, Mandalay

Build in the valley of the Northern hills is a challenge of your talent of sport. It’s long and narrow fairway, small but quick running greens approves you that golf after all is not an easy sport.

Ayetharyar golf resort, Taungyi

Perfect set up amidst the Shan Plateau. Established in 1995. This course has a challanging per 72 with 7380 yards with perfect cut of Bhamuda grass with rather large greens.

Yangon City Golf Resort

Located about 30 minutes’ drive from downtown Yangon.There are two 18 holes courses. Namely, Ngwe Taw Tar (Silver) Course, opened in 1994 with 7000 yards in total range and Myakantha (Pondy) course opened in 1996 with 6,208 yards. Both courses were designed by Yangon City Development CommitteeBeing the courses designed by Han Golf Master ( a company related to Myanmar’s PGA Pro “ Kyi Hla Han “ ) this is considered as one of the best courses in Myanmar. Located in Nyaung Oo about 10 minutes’ drive from the Bagan archeological zone and about 5 finutes from the air port.This 18-hole course of 7147 Yards was opened in 1999. Unlike other golf courses, it is located in the middle of the world-famous Bagan temples and pagodas. You can imagine the feeling of playing golf among these 1000 years old temples. Located about 30 minutes’ drive from downtown and 20 minutes from the airport.Designed by Gary Player ,this beautiful 18 hole championship golf course is considered to be one of Asia ’s most outstanding golf course and its considered number 1 in Myanmar with its well groomed fairways and greens. As a very new course with mostly palm trees, the lack of shade is a draw back for the golfers who can not get up early. Total yardage is 7012.

Popa Mountain Golf Resort ( Mount Papa )

This beautiful 9 holes course located about 45 minutes drive from Bagan/Nyaung U airport and its on the Mt. Popa, known as Myanmar’s Mt. Olympus about 5000 ft. above sea level. The natural springs, flowers, mature trees and wooded hillsides greatly contrast to the arid lands surrounding it and therefore called the “ Oasis of the dry zone”. The climate is also totally different from neighboring Bagan.

Yangon Golf Club

This 18 hole course of 6533 yards is located about 1 hour drive from downtown Yangon on the way to Bago. Its like a city retreat where golfers can enjoy an overnight golf during weekends. But rooms are very simple and facilities are very basic ( no electricity at night ) so its not recommended for our guest to stay overnight.Although its built around a large beautiful lake, the fair ways are very dry due to poor maintenance.

This beautiful 9 holes course is located right on the beach. Actually it has 18 holes but due to the poor maintenance, only 9 holes are in good condition. But fairways are very dry due to lack of water. If you are interested in investing in a golf course, this is the good chance for you. You can talk to the authority concerned for detail procedure. As Ngapali beach is a very beautiful natural white sand beach, this golf course can become a world class golf course.
